This webinar took place on June 3, 2026. Co-hosted by the Los Angeles County Perinatal & Early Childhood Home Visiting Consortium and the Los Angeles County Medi-Cal Doula Hub, this virtual webinar focused on increasing awareness of the Medi-Cal Doula Benefit and the important role doulas play in supporting maternal and infant health outcomes. The session highlighted how doula services can improve birth experiences and health outcomes, particularly for Black and Brown families, while providing participants with an overview of the services covered under the Medi-Cal Doula Benefit.

Participants learned how home visitors, healthcare providers and other direct service professionals can help families access doula support through Medi-Cal and connect them with additional resources available throughout Los Angeles County. Our presenters also shared information about the work of the LA County Medi-Cal Doula Hub, including efforts to strengthen and sustain the local doula workforce and expand access to culturally responsive perinatal support services.
